If factoring before multiplying is confusing, don't! You can simplify after. If you want to try it that way, Math.com has an explanation. 

There are tons of videos and activities dealing with multiplying fractions on Kahn Academy. 

Multiplying decimals too.

They even have dividing fractions and decimals. 

Math is Fun has a Multiplying fractions song.  I haven't looked there for the rest but I bet they have something.

BTW: Kids have shown me some of these sites, if you know of one I missed please comment!
